How Old Am I?

This book encapsulates the powerful project it stems from. The Inside Out Project was started by the artist JR. He travels the world taking large black and white photographs of people’s faces and displays them in public places. He hopes this inspires people to listen to others’ stories and initiates change.

This book is an extension of that. It shares 100 people from around the world ages 1-100. For each one, it includes their name, where they were born and live, and a short paragraph about their life. I love the concept of this book and the message it shares. It’s really in a category of its own. My children were delighted to hear the stories of kids their age and look at the beauty and diversity of the people included. I loved hearing the wisdom and experiences of those older than myself. How Old Am I? is a great resource to teach empathy and learn that even through our differences we are all the same.
