The Tiny Giant

The Tiny Giant is written as a poem dedicated to the life cycle of an oak tree. We see it throughout the seasons as a tiny acorn, slowly sprouting, and turning into a grandiose tree. What equally captures the imagination and senses is the animals and foliage included that make their homes in and around the tree showing the beautiful relationships in nature.

I don’t share a lot of nature-inspired books here, but I can’t get over the gorgeous illustrations and vivid details of the drawings. They fully capture the reader without overpowering the text. This is a wonderful book for young children to explore the abundance of nature and learn the scientific concepts of the life cycle of a tree.

The back shares details on types of acorns, the history of Arbor Day, and how to grow your own oak tree.
