We All Play

We All Play vividly shows the connection between children and nature through play. In poetic verse, it details the way the animals “sniff and sneak, and peek and peep” and then reminds us, “we play too!” It is written by a Cree-Méti author who infuses Cree culture and words into the book demonstrating how play and nature are intricately related. The illustrations make it fun for young children to point out each animal and also learn their name in Cree (which is provided in the glossary in the back). I loved the joyful message in this book which reinforces the notion of how valuable time outside is.
