Boo Stew

A fractured fairy tale about a female character with agency who is also Black, I’m here for this! Curly Locks, our heroine, loves to cook foods like lizard skin lasagna and cat hair cupcakes, but she has no one to cook them for. The town she lives in has a problem with Scares that hoot and holler all night keeping everyone from sleeping. With Curl Locks’ ingenuity she figures out how to keep the Scares quiet and finds a perfect customer for her creations. This is a fun, minimally scary book. It has detailed illustrations and is a wonderful twist on Goldilocks, which it is loosely based on.
