Wow is all I can say. This book balances not holding back with being appropriate for children, which is quite brilliant. On the one hand, it is a cute rhyming book, but it also doubles as a powerful guide to being anti-racist for children and adults. It shares nine steps, such as celebrating differences, not being colorblind, using words to speak out against racism. Its illustrations depict diverse families that parallel the message. And, it shares discussion topics for parents to have with their children in the back.
